Biking Tours
A Paradise For Bikers
Bhutan is a paradise for bikers with its pristine environment boasting breathtaking landscapes, majestic mountains, delightful friendly locals and with just enough road challenges to add a dash of spice!
Bhutan is very fortunate to still have its culture and traditions largely intact and the combination of motorbiking through such a remarkable environment with such wonderful cultural opportunities is a rare opportunity.
Bicycling in Bhutan is rewarded with stunning views and pristine nature on good paved roads with little traffic.
Road Conditions
Riding is quite slow compared to many destinations due to the windy road through the Kingdom and you’ll often be sitting on around 35-45KPH on a bike with the odd stretch of road allowing for travel 50-65 KPH.
Road widening is having an impact on road conditions, especially in western Bhutan, and this will remain through most of 2015. However don’t let that put you off. A combination of some road/trail riding makes for a great deal of fun. The road conditions are quite good through central Bhutan.
Bhutan’s mountainous terrain offers a fascinating adventure for cycling enthusiasts. The roads wind up and down mountains with exhilarating drops of thousands of metres, and of course the challenge of surmounting equally high passes of over 3000 metres. The route is accompanied by mixed forests, pasturelands, rich meadows and valleys dotted with medieval villages and towns rich in culture.
Excellent combination of biking, visiting sites and eating local foods. A great way to see the country
